staff members who come together to share ideas and pool resources for targeted

MEDICATION DISPOSAL -
Flushing is not the answer
Improper disposal of prescription or
over-the-counter drugs adds chemicals to the water supply and/or soil.
Though the concentration of these chemicals in surface waters is extremely
low, the presence of these substances in the environment is emerging as an
important issue. As with any household hazardous waste product, you should
not flush these items down the toilet, down the sink, or place in recycling.

CLEANER STREETS -
CLEANER WATER: Norfolk to Sweep Streets Once a Month When it rains, debris and
chemicals from our streets wash into stormdrains and flow directly into area
waterways. Street sweeping removes trash and leaves from roadways that could
clog stormdrains and harm waterways. The City of Norfolk is
doubling its street sweeping schedule to capture more debris. To learn

Norfolk's street sweeping program, visit the City of Norfolk, Public
Works Department for
