Sweeter (Edible) Soil Recipe

Items needed for a 30 servings:

  • 30 (2 oz.) plastic cups
  • 16 oz. candy coated chocolate (with or without nuts)
  • 2 (3.8 oz) boxes of instant pudding - prepared
  • 30 gummy worms
  • ½ cup colored sprinkles
  • 15 chocolate cookies, crushed
  • ½ cup coconut (optional)
  • green food coloring

Instructions:

1. Place the 30 plastic cups side by side on a flat counter top.

2. Put 3 fingers full of the candy coated chocolates into the bottoms of each container.

3. Begin the second layer by dividing the pudding evenly between the cups. The pudding represents the subsoil section.

4. Scoop the crumbled cookies into the cups to represent the topsoil.

5. Add the sprinkles to the topsoil along with the worms.  The colorful sprinkles represent organisms in the soil.

6. Place the coconut in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. Add a couple of drops of green food color. Snap lid on and shake container for 30 to 45 seconds. Dry the coconut on paper towels. When dry (15 mins.), sprinkle on the tops of the mixtures to represent grass.

7. ENJOY!
