Landscaping for YOUR waterways.

Benefits for Bay-Friendly Landscapers
There are many reasons landscaping for the Bay.  Not only is it important for the health and life of the Bay, but for the wildlife as well.

Another reason is that landscaping companies save money by avoiding overuse of chemicals and by reusing and composting yard waste. The environmentally responsible company also attracts conscientious customers.

Before You Blow, You Should Know
Most Hampton Roads cities have codes that make dumping, blowing, or washing anything into a storm drain or ditch a crime. That includes grass clippings and leaves. Blowing leaves and grass clippings into storm drains and ditches not only pollutes waterways, but also blocks drainage and causes flooding. For example, the City of Norfolk, such an offense is a Class One Misdemeanor, carrying a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500. The same penalties applied to illegal dumping of motor oil or other hazardous wastes apply to illegal dumping of leaves and grass, in most cities.
